CCSD 46 NOTICE: 11/01/08
Tentative agreement reached at Grayslake District 46Negotiating teams for the Grayslake Federation of Teachers and the Community Consolidated School District 46 Board of Education have reached an agreement after seven hours of bargaining on November 1, 2008. A federal mediator was present overseeing the mediation session and was responsible for proposing the eventual agreement.
“Both parties made compromises today to reach this settlement” said Diane Elfering, president of the Grayslake Federation of Teachers.
The Grayslake paraprofessional unit which represent office staff, program assistants, custodial personnel, and other non-certified employees at CCSD 46 are still bargaining.
Sue Facklam, vice president of the CCSD 46 Board of Education and member of the Board’s negotiating team, stated “We are pleased with the outcome of today’s mediation session.”
Details of the teacher agreement will be released at a future date.
