Everyone is now receiving their blue cards (Property Tax Assessments). The government is greedy and continuing to take more and more of our money. Yet for all the money they take, they want to continue to hide where they spend our tax dollars.

There are 15 referendums/advisory questions in Lake County this year. How many of these entities put their check registers online? To my knowledge, none of them. If they do, please send me the link to their site and I’ll be happy to post it here. Until such time as any of these entities do post this basic information, they have not earned a yes vote.

If you live in any of these taxing bodies, please join me in asking them to join the transparency effort of “No taxation without information” and bring Sunshine to your local government’s spending.
