A More Perfect Union

The U.S. Constitution was signed 219 years ago. For those of you who were taught Everyday Math/Fuzzy Math/New Math, that would mean it was signed in 1787. This document was birthed the most radical form of government ever conceived. It gave the people the chance to govern themselves.

This Sunday night the movie, A More Perfect Union, will be shown at Lake Region Bible Church at 6 pm. The church is located at 205 W. Washington in Round Lake, between Hainesville and Cedar Lake Roads.

Here is a quote about the movie:

A More Perfect Union – America Becomes a Nation (2-hour motion picture) is the first comprehensive recreation of those stirring, heated debates during the sweltering summer of 1787. Filmed on location at Independence Hall, Williamsburg, Virginia, and other historical sites, it dramatically chronicles how America became a nation and those underlying principles that guard our freedoms today.

This is a great opportunity to help your kids understand how our nation began. It will give them a better sense of why this Country was founded and why it is so vital that they fight to protect our freedoms still today.

I leave you with a quote from George Washington:

A primary object…should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing…than…communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?
