Storytelling in the Classroom

I was asked if I would publish this invitiation to Lake County Teachers for a class in storytelling.


          

The Golden Apple Foundation, in partnership with the Zion Fine Arts Council and the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, extends a special invitation to Lake county teachers to participate in a two-week workshop that will teach techniques for effective and creative storytelling with an emphasis on Mexican culture.

When: July 24th – August 4th, 2006 Monday-Friday, from 9:00-3:00

Where: Zion Benton Public Library, 2400 Gabriel Avenue, Zion IL and 1 day at the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum, 1852 W. 19th St., Chicago, IL

Each participant will receive classroom materials and 10 CEU’s.

Participants will also have the opportunity to create and develop a personal story, historical piece or folk tale. Instruction is provided by Golden Apple Award winning teachers and museum staff.

  • The workshop ends with an exciting evening of food and stories.
  • Registration fee of $100 will be refunded at completion of workshop; each participant will receive an additional $100 stipend to purchase classroom materials for storytelling.
