Dr. Mosshamer, who resigned in March, was working out the final months of his contract. Early last week, after the school board meeting on April 17th he was asked to work the remainder of his time from home.
The article below from the Daily Herald has Dr. Mosshamer claims that this was directed by the board. This is probably technically true since the board has to approve staffing hires/fires/resignations. Since this is a personnell issue, we may never know exactly why this happened. He is still working for the district doing research from his home.

A Grayslake Elementary District 46 administrator has been put on leave, and he’ll serve out the last three months of his contract from home. Assistant Superintendent Edgar Mosshamer said the school board instructed Superintendent Ellen Correll to have him leave his office last week without telling him why, but she said he is accused of no wrongdoing. Correll said she couldn’t say why Mosshamer was asked to stay home. She said she’ll have him work on research projects. |
The timing of this was rather interesting leaving many questions:
- Why was he told not to work from the district offices?
- Who really wanted him not working in the district offices?
- What research projects is he working on?
- What affect does theis have on the Committees he was heading?
The last question is easier to answer. The committtees are being reassigned. Dan Aggen is taking over the tech committee. In fact, we are having a meeting this afternoon. Hopefully, now we can all get the information we need to complete a thorough technology plan.
I do not know about the Gifted and Wellness committees. I am assuming for now they will be now be headed by Lynn Barkley since they are curriculum related. I’m sure those committee members have already been notified of the change. If they would like to share that information, it would be greatly appreciated by all.
