My husband was out driving in Capentersville yesterday, and he saw a Dist. 300 truck with a bunch of VOTE NO signs in the back of it. He immediately came to Otto (Engineering) to see Jack (Roeser). (Next to the bridge in Carpentersville is Otto Engineering, from whose building the Family Taxpayers Network operates. Those wanting “Vote No†signs can park across the street, walk in and get one.) They called the Police and filled out a report. What a shame that D300 would pull such tricks. They removed signs in all surrounding yards in our neighborhood. And along the other key locations. Stealing is a crime! They asked all team members to join in a rally on Saturday, March 10 and go around and BANG ON PEOPLE’S DOORS TO TELL THEM TO VOTE YES….. (identifying reference removed) coach also told (identifying reference removed) team that the (identifying reference removed) Team went around an pulled up VOTE NO signs, Talk about USING THE STUDENTS. |
Of course the District is doing an investigation. That’s like the fox investigating the hen house.
There is also the daily annoucements at Jacob’s High School in D-300 via CRAFT:

Hello, I am a student at Jacobs High School. Supposedly, and by law as well, schools including Jacobs, Dundee Crown, Westfield, and all other District 300 schools are not allowed to push for a yes,yes or no,no vote on March 21,2006’s referenda questions. However, this has been ignored. Let me show you a (currently) typical day at Jacobs High School regarding the referendum: The above mentioned are a day-to-day basis, however other such things occur as: How is it possible for this referendum to occur if the pro-referendum side cannot simply abide by not local, but STATE law? Just like I am, my friends are also sick of this bombardment of propaganda. |
Also don’t forget what District 1 in Winthrop Harbor is doing:
|
The Winthrop Harbor School District hosted a series of fundraisers referred to as “Friday Night Fun Festsâ€, in which all three schools participated. At the time that these fundraisers were held, it was indicated to the Winthrop Harbor PTA/PTO that there was not a separate bank account to hold the money collected. Therefore, it was strongly encouraged that the profits from these “fun fests†be deposited in the Winthrop Harbor PTA/PTO checking account. That said, the money collected at these events was then presented to the Winthrop Harbor PTA/PTO by the school district and the PTA/PTO subsequently wrote a check for the exact amount for deposit to: The Citizen’s for Quality Schools. |
Has anyone heard of election interference? The basics are school districts cannot spend money or promote a Yes vote in any way. This includes contributions of time or materials paid for by the taxpayers. They can only present facts. Follow this link if you want to read the entire law. You can read further about the Ethics Codes at the Attorney Generals website.
Most State’s Attorney don’t bother with this behavior. This is riduculous. This is their job. They have to step up and start prosecuting these crimes to let everyone know that elections will be fair for all and not just the school that are willing to break the law.
