Vote of No Confidence

The Grayslake Federation of Teachers union has taken a “no confidence” vote against the Grayslake Elementary District 46 board, the union said in a release sent late Thursday. The move further heats up the rhetoric over contract disputes that arose after the district board already approved terms. In the release, the union detailed its grievances against the board, which include disputes over how health care and retroactive pay are handled. The union says about 50 teachers will lose pay over the agreement and the board might overpay others by about $14,000. As expected, the union will seek arbitration for the teachers they say have been harmed.

What does this mean? Nothing as far as solving the situtation. All this does is raise the rhetoric to a new level. It makes the situation more contentious than ever.

For the person who likes to claim I am perpetuating this, I ask, “How did the Union release this without telling me so I could perpetuate this some more?” It seems they have been the one continuing to keep this out front in the community and not me.
